“This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.”
An accepted principle of life is that earth’s treasures – such as gold, silver, diamonds, or even oil – require diligent searching out and unearthing.
God has buried treasure in us – in our hearts and minds – the treasures of His past faithfulness, His past answers to our prayers, and His many gracious deliverances.
Often these treasures of comfort and joy and strength are buried under our anxieties, our doubts, under the enemy’s lies, and under our foreboding fears of the future. Sometimes, when it would seem our Father is leaving us to struggle through life in our own strength, what He often does is call us to unearth the buried treasures of His past workings and faithfulness in our life.
The effort to recall and unearth, to revisit and rejoice in God’s past goodness is well worth the reward.
