Spurgeon: June 8, Morning
“There fell down many slain, because the war was of God.” — 1 Chronicles 5:22
We do well to remember that when we gave our lives to Jesus Christ, we engaged in a spiritual battle against the devil. Remembering the enemy that we war against will help us cope with life’s frustrations, disappointments, and difficulties. What else are we to expect when battling such a nefarious foe?
We find great hope and strength in remembering that our fight to walk with the Lord is actually the Lord’s battle–He fights on our behalf.
Take heart today, weary solider. The battle in which you are engaged, is the Lord’s battle, and He has already won the victory on your behalf.
