“Ye that love the Lord hate evil.” — Psalm 97:10
We’ve heard that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. This is never more true than in our dealings with sin.
When we give place to the flesh, and offer opportunity to the devil, we soon find ourselves under the power of sin, succumbing to temptation, and crying out with all of our might and striving with all of our strength to free ourselves from the awful grip of the enemy.
Fighting sin while it is still in its beginning stages is better, wiser, and easier. It is better to fight temptation while it is still in our heart, before it takes root in our flesh.
May God grant us grace today to take inventory of our heart’s condition. If He reveals to us a tolerated presence of sin within, may the Spirit of God strengthen us to deal a death blow to sin immediately, while it is still quickly overcome.
