“Get thee up into the high mountain.” — Isaiah 40:9
We avoid all sorts of sin, and rightly so, especially those vices of lust and unbelief. We must be aware, also, of the most subtle sin of all–complacency. What danger we face when we feel no danger, sense no urgency, are driven by no compulsion to grow and excel in our faith. We need the inspiration of the scriptures and an appreciation of the heroes of the church and a love for Jesus to lead us ever onward and upward. May God grant us a blessed hatred of all forms of spiritual complacency.
